Cookie notice.
Effective date: 18 September 2026. Version 2.0.
1. Purpose of this notice
1.1 This Cookie Notice explains what information is stored on, or read from, the device you use to access reablelabs.ie (the "Website"), the purposes for which that storage or access occurs, the legal basis upon which it is carried out, and the means by which you may give, withhold or withdraw your consent.
1.2 This Cookie Notice forms part of, and should be read together with, the Privacy notice.
2. Legal framework
2.1 Regulation 5(3) of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011), giving effect in Ireland to Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, provides that a person shall not use an electronic communications network to store information, or to gain access to information already stored, in the terminal equipment of a subscriber or user unless the subscriber or user has given consent, having been provided with clear and comprehensive information concerning the purposes of the processing.
2.2 Regulation 5(4) disapplies that requirement where the storage or access is for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or is strictly necessary in order to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user.
2.3 Consent for these purposes bears the meaning given to it by the GDPR. It must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and must be signified by a clear affirmative action. Continued use of the Website, scrolling, and inactivity do not constitute consent. Consent must be as easy to withdraw as to give.
3. Consent mechanism
3.1 Upon your first visit, a consent panel is displayed. No cookie is set, and no information is read from your device, before you have made a choice, save for the strictly necessary storage described at clause 4.2.
3.2 The panel presents the options "Accept" and "Reject" with equal prominence, with neither pre-selected. Selecting "Reject", or closing the panel without selecting either option, has the same effect: no analytics storage occurs.
3.3 Your choice is recorded for a period of six months, upon the expiry of which the panel is presented again so that your consent may be refreshed.
3.4 You may reopen the panel and alter your choice at any time by following the link entitled "Change your cookie choice" at the foot of this notice and in the Website footer.
4. Information stored on your device
4.1 Analytics storage, consent required. Where you select "Accept", the following cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 in order to distinguish one visitor from another and to maintain the state of a visit.
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | First-party cookie | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes one visitor from another for the purposes of aggregate measurement | 2 years |
| _ga_4WLCHG780G | First-party cookie | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains the state of a single visit for the purposes of aggregate measurement | 2 years |
4.2 Strictly necessary storage, no consent required. One item is written to your browser's local storage in order to record the choice you have made under clause 3. Without it we would be unable to give effect to your choice, and you would be asked on every page. This storage is strictly necessary within the meaning of Regulation 5(4), is confined to your device, and is not transmitted to us.
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| reable_consent | Local storage | This Website | Records whether analytics storage has been accepted or rejected, and the date of that choice | 6 months |
4.3 Storage not used. The Website does not use cookies or equivalent technologies for advertising, retargeting, cross-site tracking, social media integration, session replay, heat mapping, fingerprinting or the construction of behavioural profiles. No advertising pixel, tag manager, social plugin, embedded video player or externally hosted font is loaded by the Website.
5. Consequences of refusal
5.1 Refusal of analytics storage has no effect upon the availability or functionality of the Website. No content, document or feature is withheld on the basis of that choice, and the choice is not treated as a condition of access.
6. Withdrawal of consent and browser controls
6.1 Consent may be withdrawn at any time through the mechanism at clause 3.4, with immediate effect for the future.
6.2 Independently of that mechanism, you may configure your browser to block or delete cookies, and you may delete cookies and site data associated with reablelabs.ie at any time. Where the record described at clause 4.2 is deleted, the consent panel will be presented again upon your next visit. Browser controls are ordinarily found within the privacy or security settings of the browser concerned.
6.3 Further general information concerning cookies, including instructions for managing them in common browsers, is published by the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
7. Amendment
7.1 This Cookie Notice will be updated where the information stored on your device changes. The effective date and version number at the head of this document will be updated accordingly, and, where a new purpose is introduced, fresh consent will be sought.
8. Contact
8.1 Enquiries concerning this Cookie Notice should be directed to sean@reablelabs.ie.
