For Future Users
Diego is being developed for comfort, control, and reliability in daily life. Here is what to expect as we move closer to clinical testing and real-world use.
Currently in development. This page describes the experience we are building toward, not a product on sale today.
The process
Our future fitting process
Prototype fitting
Early fittings will take place in partner labs and clinics as part of upcoming trials. Each unit will be custom-printed and calibrated to the user's anatomy.
Calibration and feedback
Early users will help refine motion control, grip strength, and comfort, shaping how future versions develop.
Performance optimisation
After initial testing, Diego will receive firmware and mechanical improvements based on real-world feedback.
Production and support
Once certified for wider release, we will provide ongoing support, updates, and modular component replacement through partnered prosthetics centres.
Grip modes
Designed for everyday life
Diego is built for real-world adaptability. From typing to cooking, the goal is for every motion to feel intuitive.
Precision tasks
Pinch grip for pens, utensils, and small tools.
Power grip
Strong, secure hold for bottles, handles, and lifting.
Lateral grip
Side pinch for flat objects like cards or paper.
Tripod grip
Three-finger hold for fine manipulation and daily tasks.
Grip types and performance shown here are current prototype goals and may change during development.
FAQ
Questions about what is coming
We are in late-stage prototyping and plan to begin pilot fittings with select clinics. Public availability follows testing and certification.
Fitting will be done by trained clinicians using a digital limb scan to create a matched 3D-printed shell and socket.
Yes. Diego will have an internal rechargeable power source, designed with USB-C in mind.
Our longer-term goal is app-based customisation. The hand will also work on its own out of the box.
Every part of Diego is modular. You or your clinician can swap tendons, covers, or electronics without a full replacement.
The first release will be splash-resistant but not waterproof. Suitable for daily use, not submersion.
We are preparing a pilot programme for clinical testing. Register your interest on our contact page and we will let you know when applications open.
